Is the Insta 360 X3 Cam The New Moto Action Cam?

If it’s on the internet it MUST be true and I got INFLUENCED into buying this new 360 degree action cam. How did that happen? It just crept up on me with their stealth marketing campaign. First I saw these cams in YouTube vids that I I watch to upgrade my video skills. Then I see saw some cool ass shots that left me wondering how the hell did they do that. Finally, my good bro Al told me I needed the cam to get good shots. God damn AL for planting the seed because after seeing this video i basically pulled the trigger!
Great Freaking Review Video!
Poor Click-Bait Review Video!
The Magazine Wired created a review this past December on the cam by Scott Gilbertson. Scott hits in his article the new features of the cam. “The X3 retains the same raw video specs found in the X2, shooting 5.7K at 30 frames per second in 360 mode. That said, there is a larger half-inch, 48-megapixel sensor and a brighter lens, making the video output of the X3 significantly better than that of the X2.
I
f I hadn’t recently tested the Insta360 One RS 1-inch 360 Edition, I’d be ready to say the X3 produces the best 360 video I’ve seen. But the One RS 1-inch 360 Edition does offer better video results, thanks to its great sensor and those huge Leica lenses. It’s also over twice the price, significantly heavier, not fully waterproof, and more awkward to shoot with.
Let’s just say you’d be hard-pressed to find higher-quality 360 video in a camera the size and price of the Insta360 X3. At the very least, it’s leaps and bounds better than the X2, with far sharper details when I zoom in on a scene.
Wired’s rating for this cam is basically 8/10 in their opinion. Their PRO thoughts are, “New sensor and lens yield much better 5.7K 360 video. Great battery life. Large, bright screen. Can be used as 4K, single-lens action cam. Slim, relatively lightweight. Shoots 72-megapixel spherical images. Great editing software.” Their CON thoughts are, “Difficult to mount to helmet or body. Any 5.7K 360 footage is still only 1080p when cropping to flat formats.”
I am trying to upgrade my video skills and quality for my followers to give them a bigger bang for their clicks. I also purchased a digital sound recorder to do overlays and provide wind resistant voice during my rides describing and commenting in real time with REAL quality. I will do the open box review when those items arrive. I am not a big wig so I paid out of pocket. If its shit I will drop the hammer on them with no mercy since I dropped some coin on the products.
Below I will drop a past video of mine titled: Biker World Etiquette For Today’s Social Media. What to do if you see a Biker down in an accident? To post or not to post that is the question. In this video you will learn the correct response to my question showing the up most respect for the family of the downed Biker. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Watch the video and give me a thumbs up or down at the end!
