Gabe Rides the Dalton Hwy up the Atigun Pass in Alaska on a Harley-Davidson

In this installment of Gabe’s adventures from Tierra De Fuego (Argentina, South America), on a Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra riding to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska he documents his ride from the bottom of the Atigun Pass that is north of Coldfoot, Alaska.

Atigun Pass, elevation 4,739 feet, is a high mountain pass across the Brooks Range in Alaska, located at the head of the Dietrich River. It is where the Dalton Highway crosses the Continental Divide, and is the highest pass in Alaska that is maintained throughout the year.

Gabe rode non-stop from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay stopping in Coldfoot base camp for gas and some snacks. The next day returning to Fairbanks he started recording at the base of the north side of the Atigun Pass and stopped recording on the north side.

Many people desire to make this trek as part of their life’s bucket list of places to travel. This is Gabe’s third time visiting Prudhoe Bay up the Ice Trucker’s Road that is known as the Dalton highway or as the locals call it, “The Slope!”

This year in 2019 Gabe rode to raise funds for the local South Florida Veterans of the American Legion Post 180 located in Plantation, Florida.

Gabe completed this hard run in 2014, 2015, and in this video in 2019. In 2015 he rode for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital located in Hollywood, Florida. Gabe raised close to $50,000 for that hospital and the Chris Everett when someone through the James Jr Fund donated $25K for the other children’s hospital. Gabe didn’t refuse the $$$$$ because it was all for the kids.

In 2015 when Gabe rode from Tierra De Fuego, Argentina in South America all the way to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska Gabe found this video to record. He stated that the rainbows was a kiss from God like a pat on the back for a job well done!
