Vlogger of the Week: Florida’s Moto-Wild Man!
BY Gabe Carrera aka the Attorney That RIDES!
I am often asked why I create Vlogs promoting other Moto-Vloggers and not focus on myself. First, I am not looking for fame and fortune in the YouTube metaverse because I enjoy doing my videos at my level. Second, we have Karma or quoting Jesus the Son of God, “You reap what you sow!” “Do unto others as you want other to do unto you!” Lastly, I firmly believe that the world would be a more happy place with less wars and more prosperity if the masses would just binge on YouTube Moto-Vlogger videos. One of the most wildest Vlogs on YouTube today is that of Tampa’s very own @shadetreesurgeon
If YouTube channels were controlled substances I think that @shadetreesurgeon would be five tabs of Grateful Dead acid with a mix of native American peyote partying in the sweat tents. This biker’s energy overwhelms the viewer in a positive way without any phony plastic banna, Harley wannabe acting, portraying himself to be more than what he is. Hell, the man is 100% with a heart of gold raising tons of $$$$$$ for a Florida local charity called Forgotten Angels that raises funds for foster children that age out and are thrown out of their foster homes by their POS foster parents. We will get into Forgotten Angels further below. I have never met him but i see how his bro’s and fans respond to his authenticity. He is the real dillio.
The @shadetreesurgeon channel “about” page has two words… “Florida Man!” That pretty much sums up who this crazy-eyed biker is on two wheels. Bald Rider describes Joshua Laurenti aka @shadetreesurgeon, “Content on the Shadetree Surgeon channel these days consists of a guy who mostly motovlogs along with silly sarcasm-driven videos. He does the things that we all think about or wish we were doing but don’t get off the couch to do it, though. Most of his test ride videos include the quote “I like bike.” Josh does his own wrenching (except for that Ducati stuff) and doesn’t edit out his mistakes or blunders. He has driven thousands of miles from his home base in the Tampa area. He has also developed a bad habit of buying old, sketchy bikes on the West Coast and driving them back. Numerous unofficial SaddleSore 1000s have been completed but the Swamp Wizard hasn’t submitted to the IBA. He doesn’t care for such trivial things like official ‘rules’ and ‘order’ and ‘validation.’

“This guy has no corporate sponsors, uses ancient GoPro cameras and does little planning. He has a day (night) job running The Dirty Shame Pub in Ybor City. Still, with little more than Monster Energy, gas station pickles and spite for those imaginary people who theoretically said he couldn’t do it for fuel, he makes it happen. His content isn’t polished but it is engaging. He’s a real guy who is doing real things and recording it for our entertainment. More importantly, he enjoys doing it and it shows in the end product.”
“His only real support is his niece, and business partner, Chey. She has her own growing YouTube channel under the name Cheyleesi. They also run Brap Star together, a merch store now but maybe someday much more.”
@shadetreesurgeon Charity Heart of Gold
I first heard about the charity Forgotten Angels on@shadetreesurgeon posted video by calling out a fellow YouTuber, rightly so, by asking how he lost $250,000 in charity $$$$ in his hometown of Tampa while hosting such a mega event super hyped? @shadetreesurgeon summed it up that the YouTuber focused on the spectacle rather than the charity. @shadetreesurgeon has raised NET cash for Forgotten Angels, not gross but rather NET in the brain busting amount of $1 Million dollars. Screaming Thunder salutes @shadetreesurgeon for his service to make the lives of Florida’s aged out foster kids lives better.
Over 250,000 children are placed into the U.S. foster care system each year and more than 20,000 will “age out”—that is, become too old to stay under State care. Depending on the state, aging out occurs at the age of 18 or as soon as they graduate from high school. While some states, including Florida, may allow for extended foster care (up to age 21 or 22 with a documented disability) if certain requirements are continuously met every month, many of the youths aging out of foster care struggle with transitioning to adulthood.
Forgotten Angels is a nonprofit—which operates more as a family—to benefit children aging out of the foster care system, young adults who have aged out, at-risk teens, and recently released incarcerated youths. We take these children into our home and teach them the life skills they were never given. We provide them with the opportunity to complete their high school education, plan for continuing education or skills training, own and custom renovate a tiny home, get a job, open a bank account, build credit, purchase a vehicle, and have the care, love, and guidance they never had from their legal foster caregivers while helping them plan for a more successful future.

What Do other People Say?
Cameron Vanderhorst of HD Forums wrote a piece on @shadetreesurgeon stating that, “One man proves that it’s possible to put a nice Harley in your garage for well under $10,000 — or under $2,000! Shadetree Surgeon is a YouTube channel that we’ve stumbled onto recently. Frankly, we feel pretty dumb that it took us this long to find it. It’s rapidly becoming one of our favorite sources of Harley-related entertainment. Just a quick warning before we go any further — some of the language used in the videos is a little on the rough side. You’re a biker, you can handle it. Just don’t blast it over the Bluetooth at work and you should be fine.”
WaltInPA created a blog where he highlights various moto-vloggers/Bloggers. My Favorite Motorcycle Content Creators on YouTube is where he talks up @shadetreesurgeon. “Of all the Content Creators I’ve chosen to recommend – this is the one that I’ve struggled most with to describe. Part of me feels like the following description is going to come across as insulting but in the one-in-a-million chance that he reads this little blurb on the internet, I think he may find it as a compliment (that is in fact how I mean it).
We all know that one guy – that guy that speaks like a professional wrestler cutting a promo and you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. On top of that, he loves Dungeons and Dragons and rides a Harley (I don’t know if he actually loves D&D but he has talked about Fantasy Novels and I’m totally into that). In a nutshell, that is Shadetree Surgeon Opens in a new tab. Shadetree Surgeon can be a little weird at times and come across a bit crass but he is authentic and that is precisely why I enjoy watching his videos.
In Conclusion of @shadetreesurgeon
In conclusion, my personal favorite creative comes from Million Dollar Bogan world traveler and Shade tree collaboration. Bogan had finished his Bolivia/S. America run. Some how Bogan flew his bike to Florida needing it transported to another state. He contacted Shade Tree to move his bike. The video below half way injects Shade tree into Bogan’s explanation of what happened to his bike.
Shade tree makes his own video allowing some hot mama with a killah bod ride the FUCK out of Bogan’s bike. Actually, I was left with a woody that went down immediately when the cam went back to Shade Tree. In the video below, after a sexy tease Florida style, we see Shade tree personally shipping Bogan’s bike to Cali. Towards the end of the video Shade tree is on a podcast explaining what he is doing. I was surprised to see these two work together especially when they live on opposite ends of the globe literally. I enjoy and consume boths content so it was a pleasurable surprise when they created a collab capping off Bogan’s Bolivia Death Road series on his Harley.
