Brand New Waze Motorcycle Mode
Do you prefer rolling on two wheels instead of four? Waze wants to help you find some
a nice route to cruise.
The Google-owned traffic and navigation app just added a waze motorcycle mode, which offers ”
specialized routing to help make finding freedom on the open road simpler and faster,” the
company wrote in a blog post. The update also adds support for “OK Waze” voice commands
and HOV routes.
The new motorcycle mode will direct bikers to routes that are optimized for two or three
wheels, based on where other users have traveled. Waze said the feature will get smarter over
time as people use it. To enable it, go to Settings, tap Vehicle Type, then tap Motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the new OK Waze feature lets you get directions, preview the route ahead, report a
traffic jam, and add a pit stop, all with the sound of your voice.
“Not only is it convenient, it’s safer, allowing you to stay focused on the road ahead,” Waze wrote.
This feature is currently available for English speakers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa,
Ireland, and New Zealand. To enable it, go to Settings, tap Sound & voice, tap Talk to Waze, then toggle
Listen for “OK Waze” on. Waze promised to roll it out to more languages in the near future.
Finally, the new HOV feature will help you find carpool lanes, and offers more accurate arrival times
when you plan to use them.
